GaGaGa! KO GaoGaiGar - Part 1

Thursday, April 27th, 2006

I’ve always wanted myself a fully transforming and combining GaoGaiGar since the first time I saw it.

There are many versions, but the first one ever released was the Takara made 1999 DX GaoGaiGar. That now is a vintage toy and very hard to get. Saw it once at Time Machine,Times Square selling for about RM 250 after discount (originally it was Rm 300+).

Other independent companies released their own enhanced version (very possable + metal parts) which was more expensive. This includes CMs and Maxfactory. They’re about RM 600++.

Can afford the real one ? Get a KO ! At 1/6 of the original price, it’s a steal !

The one i’ve got here is an imitation of the Takara DX version. Comes with Gaigar(the white robot), Stealth Gao, Drill Gao, Liner Gao, Dividing Driver and a CD.

First thing I noticed even before I bought this guy was the claw on GaiGar was messed up. They acually mis-assmebled them on the wrong hands (think terbalik / left to right). What do you expect, after all, it’s KO after all.

Armed with a screw driver, i did a minor surgery on it >:). The operation was a success.

Before & After

Suprisingly, GaiGar is very well articulated. It’s very possable for a toy that’s been released in the late 90’s. Even Transformers at that time were still considered a brick (they lack limb joints).

Despite those, the’re still some minor isuues. GaiGar’s thighs were fat, and the legs below the knee is short and skinny. Makes GaiGar very hard to stand properly. The arms were good, but the claw sucks. You can’t do the claw weapon thingie (like Wolverine) like in the anime .

FUSION ! GaiGAR !!!

There’s no instruction sheet given too. After countless times watching the ‘Fusion’ sequence on the anime, I’ve finally managed to transform GaiGar to Galeon the Space Lion.

Galeon look convincing from the front. The back legs sucks though.

Seemed like GaiGar/Galeon was good enough for me. Being the fact that is a KO, i’m very impressed with it. The paint job and the chrome parts were a bit sloppy, but still tollerable. I’ve seen more hedious paint job on a real toy before.

Can’t wait to combine GaiGar with the Gao Machines.

FINAL FUSION ! SHONIN !!!

To be continued … (sings Yuusha-oh Tanjou …)

Kelapa Jelly Drink

Thursday, April 27th, 2006

Hmm.. seemed like this think is appearing everywhere. So, last night I gave it a try.

The thing came in a tall glass. Comes with a big straw too. Using a normal sized straw will end up wtih a clogged one.

Inside was a combination of liquid and blobs of jelly. If you’re lucky, you’ll also get some bits of the coconut flesh. Pretty much like a young coconut water + its flesh (the transparent hingus type).

As for the jelly, i think it’s made with agar-agar + cocounut water. Very soft, which is most likely more water to agar - agar ratio.

Mmm.. blobs of jelly ….

Tasted almost like coconut water. The jelly adds some adventure while drinking (eating?slurping? +_+”) it. I wish it comes with a bit more ice, but then more ice = less jelly. Absolutely great on a hot day.

After lots of fiddling, I’ve managed to get this darn blog right. This is my first attempt in blogging. Pardon me for the sucky-ness of it.

If you’re wondering what the title of this blog means, it’s ‘Fight! Brave Iron Man Muscular Convoy’.

It’s kinda of a parody to super robot animes. BTW, Muscular Convoy is my nickname in TransMy (http://www.transmy.com - the Malaysian Transformers fans’ forum).

For those who were wondering why Optimus Prime (the robot.. duh) is in my banner logo, they call him Convoy in Japan.

Still clueless on what to post in this blog. I think it’s mostly random stuff.

Updates won’t be frequent (think snail speed).

Enjoy.
