Wednesday, December 13th, 2006

Anis’s got a souvenir from a friend coming back from Kota Kinabalu. A a big frozen lobster. Almost 1 Kg I think.

(Please disregard the Maccurtis part beacuse the writer has never had a lobster before :p uu.. peraknya aku …)

This is a Maccurtis :

Being sliced in half with the help of Sword Impluse Gundam :

Spicy Herbed Butter (modified from a recipe i’ve found on the net)

  • 100g Butter
  • 2 medium chillies
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 2 small shallots
  • 2-3 tablespoon fresh chives / 1 tbs dried if available
  • 1 tbs lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • salt to taste

Throw everything into a spice mill (the short blender accessory thingie). Blend well.

Now brush it with some spicy herb butter, and grill it on a hot plate :

Very nice and (uber-)spicy (damn cameron chillies !!). Flesh tasted like a jumbo prawn but amplified by 5X. The tail part was a bit though. Normal for an overgrown shrimp :p

For otak udang lovers (not the black laksa stuff), that the biggest i’ve ever eaten :p

Must be very expensive to get. till then, I’ll stick to normal prawns … :p

Mud Pie MK. II

Wednesday, December 13th, 2006

It’s been a long time since the last Vanilla Mud Pie experiment. Here’s the upgraded version. It’s actually a slightly modified & frozen version of this recipe : http://fatboyrecipes.blogspot.com/2006/10/caramel-banana-pie.html

Behold , Banana Strawberry Vanila Custard Mud Pie a.k.a Mud Pie MK. II !!! >:)

Notice Deathsaurer standing in the background :p

A frozen dessert featuring a rich chocolate cookie base topped with Cadbury’s Dairy Milk Chocolate ganache layered with strawberry and banana chunks smothered with vanilla custard and whipped cream with cocoa powder dusting …

Actually the base was made with leftover biskut raya :p Didn’t repeat the last mistake last time overpacking the cookie crumb = stone hard base :P

Used white sugar instead of brown. Who uses brown sugar in daily cooking anyway ?

Best mud pie up to date, though a bit hard to cut. Those strawberries are really hard when frozen. Broke a knife in the process :p
